Colombia’s renewables share drops to 82% in August, as national demand for electricity drops by 3.18%

The renewables share in Colombia decreased to 81.75% in August from 83.2% recorded the month before, Colombian grid operator XM said. Clean electricity generators, including large hydropower plants, produced an equivalent of 154.3 GWh per day on average, up by 0.59% month-on-month. Hydropower alone accounted for 98.29% of the total renewables production. The nation’s demand for electricity dropped by 3.18% on the year in August.
