The Bosques de los Llanos I solar farm has an installed capacity of 20 MW, and will generate “51 GWh of energy per year, equivalent to what 23,800 families consume, and will allow the reduction of about 19,450 tons of CO2 per year”, detailed the Colombian Minister for Mines and Energy. He further announced that there will be 10 solar farms with 300 megawatts that will come into operation in 2020.
The Ministry of Mines and Energy established a transitory tariff subsidy of 86% for households that are located in Non-Interconnected Zones (ZNI) and have electric energy service through individual photovoltaic solar systems with power greater than 0.5 kW. This subsidy will benefit more than 13,300 users.
