18 projects in the energy and mining sector line up for their approval by the National Environmental Licensing Authority (ANLA) for their development. The initiatives, classified by the Colombian Government as priority and strategic, are considered as key to economic reactivation. On the oil front, license applications to ANLA were filed by Maurel & Prom, ExxonMobil Exploration, Ecopetrol, Inverpetrol Limited, Noble Energy and Cenit. For mining, the companies awaiting the entity's endorsement are AngloGold Ashanti (AGA), Mineros, Drummond and Cerro Matoso. In the energy sector, of note, are the auxiliary deviation tunnel for Hidroituango, and the El Tesorito thermoelectric.
In 2020, amidst the coronavirus pandemic, Colombian tilapia sales to the United States reached $ 35.4 million, a 52% increase over the same period last year (6,908.5 tons vs 4,547 tons). Globally, Colombia has exported this year (as of August 31) 7,119.1 tons valued at $36.9 million, an increase of 47% in tons and 20.5% in value. This increase is due to higher sales to the US, which represents 96% of total tilapia exports. The rest is sent to Peru, the United Kingdom and Germany.
Ecopetrol ranked 11th in the ranking of the Latin American 100 most valuable brands. Next in the list are Bancolombia (Position 24) and Éxito (Position 28).
Colombian ADR Tecnoglass´ stock listed on the New York Stock Exchange had the most important rise among companies that are also listed on the Colombian stock market. International investors took advantage of the optimism that exists for a possible plan to boost the United States economy and showed their interest in Colombian companies that were twice listed, both in the American stock market and in the local Colombian market. Tecnoglass participates directly in the construction sector in the US.
