According to the Ministry of Work, 23% of formal employees in Colombia is in small businesses. 45% is in big entreprises. In the country, Bogotá is the city with the highest level of firms that formally hire labour with 33%.
Last year, 67,071 tons of Hass avocado, worth at $ 125, 9 million, were exported from Colombia. In 2020 the net value of exports rose by 41%. Increase that benefited 4,000 avocado farmers located in 25,000 hectares nationwide.
Since 2015, 334 bank branches have been closed, passing from 6433 to 6,099. However, this rate significantly increased between 2019 and 2020 with 250 cases alone.
In January 2021, consumer prices rose 0.41%, consolidating an overall rate of 1.6 % over the past 12 months in Colombia. According to the country's national statistic office, this is the lowest figure since November 2013.
The National Government has accepted the non-binding offer from the national oil company, Ecopetrol, to acquire 51.4% shares in the energy distribution company, ISA. However, Grupo Energía Bogotá (GEB) has reported that it would also present a non-binding offer. Either of the proposals is estimated to be worth up to $ 3,9 billion.
