Two companies control more than half of the $2.2 billion snack foods industry in Colombia

From 2015 to 2020, the snack business in Colombia increased its market value by 25.5%, from $1.8 billion (Co$6.6 billion) to $2.58 billion (Co$ 8.2 billion), informed the Edenred Food Barometer in its latest report for Colombia. The American based Pepsico and local Nutresa have a 56.9% stake in the entire business. According to the barometer, the current covid-19 outbreak has changed the market dynamics as Colombian households increased their consumption of snacks by 72% last year.
