Colombian PMI reaches highest value in six months

The Private Managers Index (PMI) survey measured by Banco Davivienda increased by 1.6 percentage points compared to the previous month. It rose from 52.4 in March 2021 to 54 in April 2021. This latest result lies above 50.8 points, the average measure calculated by Davivienda in the long term. The Increase in local demand and succesfull merchandising strategies are among the various factors that Davivienda found as growth drivers.

Colombia pledges to half GHG emissions by 2050

In the ongoing 2021 Climate Summit, Colombia's president Ivan Duque reaffirmed the goal to reduce by 51% greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. To do so, Colombia will invest, among other strategies, in cleaner urban and freight transport policies. Mr Duque also encouraged other global leaders to sign this new environment protection agreement, which has been signed by 84 countries so far.

Fitch Rates Colombia’s 2032 and 2042 3$ bn Bonds ‘BBB-‘

Fitch Ratings has assigned a 'BBB-' rating to Colombia's USD2,0 billion bonds maturing April 22, 2032 and its USD1.0 billion maturing Feb. 22, 2042. As key rating driver, Colombia has an ESG Relevance Score (RS) of '5' for both Political Stability and Rights and for the Rule of Law, Institutional and Regulatory Quality and Control of Corruption, as is the case for all sovereigns, revealed Fitch.

Colombia has received 5.6 mn Covid-19 vaccines

Yesterday, 549,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine arrived in Colombia from Belgium. With these, the total number of received vaccines amounts to 5,615,184, informed the national government. This last dispatch comes after a recent shipment delay in the Chinese produced vaccine Sinovac, which has disrupted the vaccination process nationwide, especially in administering the second dose.
